Contemplative Life
The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Temple and the sanctity of great contemplatives, like Therese of Lisieux, remind us of the importance of drawing close to God at a very young age and of giving one’s life to the praise of God and prayerful intercession for the world.
We’re trying at Ave Philomena Inc. to be docile to what God wants to do. When there was a community of Sisters that needed a place to live, needed a place to pray, and for that prayer to be rising up to God all throughout the day at the heart of our land, St Philomena, even though that meant sacrifices of holding off on other planned building, we discerned that’s something that God wanted. The graces that come from the prayers of contemplative Sisters and also the graces from the act of charity of helping poor Sisters is something we discerned that God very much wants. Their prayers then might call down many, many other graces upon our world.
It’s good to recall that in the “long game”, the contemplative life is extremely valuable. There’s very little, which is visible right away but souls all throughout the world benefit from it. Thank you for your support which makes this possible.
