Most Important
Rosary Crusade Members

Members of the Rosary Crusade, which perhaps will wind up being the most fruitful part, for the long work, the deep work, the abundant work, that God wants to do to bear fruit in years to come, are precisely those members of the Rosary Crusade who are elderly or confined; whether grandparents or great-grandparents, or living alone or sick, they are in many ways an absolutely crucial part, not just for things right now but for the future.

Throughout the world there are many people who aren’t able to get out and have a rosary group to meet with, or are sick or in hospital beds, or are homebound, or are isolated without much Catholic family or community. Many are dealing with different sufferings and unite them to the Cross of Christ, offering them up in a fruitful sacrifice. These souls, perhaps sooner than others, might be called to go on the greatest adventure of all, which is to leave this world and be face to face with Our Lord. Some members of our Rosary Crusade have already done that.

If we believe the Saints, who say that after they die they’ll do even more than they could on the earth. Even those who aren’t heroic in sanctity, who nonetheless, first go to Purgatory, can pray for us and those who’ve made it to Heaven can pray for us quite strongly, more effectively than on the earth. And so the most powerful members of our Rosary Crusade are those who are already in heaven, those who will be there the soonest, and those offering up the most right now.

The greatest work Our Lord did on the Earth was His suffering and death and passion. St. Maximilian Kolbe recognized the value of suffering notably when he showed visitors around his impressive monastery. It had 900 brothers and was doing great work, especially through media publications. Fr. Maximilian Kolbe would give the tour and at the last stop he would say, “Now I’m going to show you where the most important work in the whole monastery happens” and that was in the infirmary. The brothers who weren’t doing anything externally but were offering up their suffering, was the most valuable component of their great work.

Suffering united to Christ’s Cross is extremely powerful now, but also is going to be among the most powerful fruit in years to come. God bless all of you who are in that situation who are members of our Rosary Crusade.
